The Eletu of Oke – Eletu, High Chief Adeniyi Ajayi has kicked against the installation of Chief Nofiu Abiodun Adeniyi Kasumu as the new Eletu of Oke – Eletu in Ijede Local Council Development Area (LCDA), by the Alajede of Ijede, HRM (Oba) Hon. Adefarasin Saheed Hassan, the Ajanaku II.
Oba Adefarasin, THE IMPACT gathered installed Chief Nofiu Abiodun Adeniyi Kasumu last week, at the Alajede Palace with the support of his chiefs.
Eletu Ajayi was installed about three years after his emergence as the candidate of Ayanolu Royal Family of Oke – Eletu.

After performing necessary rites conducted by the Alajede chiefs, he was capped by the entire traditional rulers in Ikorodu Division during one of their meetings in 2023.
Speaking with THE IMPACT on Sunday, Chief Ajayi affirmed that he is still the Eletu of Oke -Eletu and warned that anyone that lays claim to the title is just another usurper.
He emphasised that the Declaration regulating the Eletu title rotates the chieftaincy between Sogba and Ayanolu Royal Families of Oke – Eletu, adding that it is the turn of his section of family.

”My position is very clear, I am still Eletu of Oke -Eletu and nothing can change that.
”There is an existing Declaration that established rotation of the Eletu title between two ruling houses. The last Eletu is from the Sogba family and after the exit of the last Eletu, it is now the turn of the Ayanolu, where I emerged as the candidate and my subsequent installations.
“As the Eletu, I am also the Baale of Oke Eletu because the Eletu usually combines that together.”

Chief Ajayi who wishes Alajede Adefarasin long and peaceful reign, also said that there must be a letter from the state and information from the local government if such installation is going to happen.
He assured his family, entire residents of Oke Eletu and members of the public who have been calling him that there is no cause for alarm.
”There is absolutely no cause for alarm at all because I am still the substantive Eletu and just like I said earlier, nothing can change that,” Eletu Ajayi said.
